We would all love to have Beyonce’s body, wouldn’t we? This got me thinking, what does she do in order to not only get a body that good, but also to maintain it? We’ve done the digging and are here to share the goods with you!
Beyonce has never hidden the fact that she, just like the rest of us, struggled with her weight and keeping on top of her diet and exercise. When speaking during an interview with regards to this, Beyonce said “I have curves. I have struggled with diets and finding something that works for me.”
In 2013 Beyonce was challenged by her personal trainer to go on a 22 day vegan challenge. During this challenge the star would eat plant based foods and meat alternatives such as vegan bolognese. Once the challenge had finished, the singer said that the weight had stayed off. Not only did she get slimmer but she felt as though her skin was a lot firmer than it ever was before. Of course once she realised how great she felt after being plant based for only 22 days, Beyonce decided that she would continue to be vegan for the future.
Diet and working out is a priority for Beyonce, therefore when she doesn’t have time to hit the gym during her busy work days, her trainer will incorporate short bursts here and there. This means that Bey will have multiple give minute workouts put into her working day, making exercising less time consuming for her. This is a great plan for those busy times.
As many of Beyonce’s performances are filled with dancing around on stage and filled with energy, it is important that the star works on building up her stamina. The best way for her to do this is to focus on cardio during her workouts. Her trainer revealed during an interview that “Sprints are ideal for building stamina and explosiveness, which B needs to move across the stage.” He then went on to say that Bey does do some more weighted workouts in order to keep her bottom toned. Borges, her trainer, continued by saying that Bey loves doing kettle bell squats as “It’s an exercise that hits all the major muscles. If you did nothing else, you’d still get a great workout,”
Above all, she remembers to have fun! Yes, working out and eating right can seem a little boring when repeated every day. This is why Bey enjoys switching up her workouts. To stay active, she enjoys dancing around to music to really get her heart beating. She told the tabloid ‘Self’ that “”I’ll put on a song that I really like and do biceps curls with five-pound weights for the whole song and just try to burn out.” This is a really great way to keep active while having some fun and listening to some of your favourite music.
